E-sports has been around for a while believe it or not. Back in the early 1980's there was a video game competition held in most major cities. The video game that was used back then was the Atari 2600. The game that was played was "Space Invaders". The prize was not even close to what the prize is in today's world. Then out of no where these gaming competitions were faded out completely.
In today's world in some cities e-sports is a waste of time. Or better yet the only thing video games are good for is rotting your brain. Although the bad feed back from certain age groups and other source. Then E-sports field started in South Korea in 2000 and then in 2003 China. In the past 10 to 15 years here in the US we have went from internet gaming cafes slowly moving into e-sports.
In other country e-sports such as South Korea and China has become a $10 to $20 billion a year. Game players are pretty much considered like rock stars. Here in the US throughout the past 5 years. The industry has grown into a $1 to $2.5 billion a year. Most gamers do a lot of streaming. There are multiple e-sports teams out there in the US.
There are also tournaments with individuals, which is a very small areas. Which can bring in depending on location. These can draw in anywhere between 250 to a couple 1000 people. With sometimes the prize money around $500.00 to upward of $20,000.00. Now Nex Gen E-sports is planning to bring a whole new level of gaming experience. We want to offer all new e-sports class, leagues and massive public tournaments. We are going to bring one of the biggest e-ports in the nation.
